The 2 key fairness benchmarks, Sensex and Nifty, on Monday prolonged their loss as buyers selected to remain on the sidelines amid geopolitical battle between Israel and Hamas. The S&P BSE Sensex closed at 66,167, down 116 factors. Alternatively, the NSE Nifty50 settled at 19,732, down 19 factors.
On the 30-share Sensex platform, JSW Metal, Tata Metal, HCL Tech, Axis Financial institution, M&M, Energy Grid have been among the many gainers. On the draw back, Nestle India, TCS, Asian Paints, IndusInd Financial institution, Solar Pharma, Airtel emerged losers.
Within the broader markets, the BSE Midcap index rose 0.25 per cent and Smallcap index added 0.34 per cent.
On the sectoral entrance, Steel index went up 1.3 per cent, PSU Financial institution index up 0.7 per cent, and Auto index rose 0.4 per cent, whereas realty and healthcare indices ended within the crimson.
Within the earlier session on Friday, the BSE Sensex ended at 66,283, down 126 factors, whereas the NSE Nifty50 settled at 19,751, down 43 factors.
