4 British nationals who have been being held in Taliban custody in Afghanistan have been launched and are set to return to the UK on a flight.
The UK Overseas Workplace mentioned it welcomes the discharge of the boys, who have been detained over allegedly breaking the nation’s legal guidelines.
Non-profit organisation the Presidium Community, which has assisted the boys, named three of them as charity medic Kevin Cornwell, from Middlesbrough, Miles Routledge and Ian Buy.
The opposite can’t be named for authorized causes.
A Overseas, Commonwealth and Growth Workplace (FCDO) spokesperson mentioned the UK Authorities “regrets this episode”.
They went on: “On behalf of households of the British nationals, we categorical their apologies to the present administration of Afghanistan for any violations of the legal guidelines of the nation.”
Scott Richards, co-founder of the Presidium Community, mentioned the boys have been returning to the UK on Tuesday, however was unaware of which flight they have been on.
Mr Routledge is a British holidaymaker who acquired widespread consideration and criticism on social media in August 2021 having travelled to Afghanistan regardless of the Taliban’s positive aspects within the nation.
