An athlete says she was “shamed” by a flight attendant who informed her that the exercise garments she was in, consisting of Nike joggers and a crop high, have been too revealing to be worn on a Southwest Airways flight.
Maggi Thorne, who has competed on American Ninja Warrior seven occasions, stated the flight attendant approached her and stated her outfit was “inappropriate” and requested her to cowl up.
Ms Thorne stated she was “simply in shock” after the incident occurred, reported Insider.
After the incident, Ms Thorne took to X, the social media platform previously often called Twitter, to air her disappointment with the corporate.
She stated: “[An] attendant simply shamed me in entrance of passengers saying my apparel wasn’t applicable. A tank high and high-waisted pants. Flight 1039, is that this actually taking place in 2023? The passengers round me have been shocked as she shamed me for all to listen to.”
After this, she stated that the airline had issued her an apology and filed a grievance on her behalf.
Ms Thorne was on Flight 1039 from Omaha, Nebraska, to Nashville, Tennesse on Friday 1 September, with a layover in Orlando, Florida.
It was when she boarded her flight after the layover that the flight attendant approached her.
“She came visiting and requested me about my outfit and stated that she thought it was too revealing and never applicable for the airline,” Ms Thorne informed the information outlet. “It was extremely embarrassing.”
Ms Thorne stated that she denied the request of the attendant to placed on extra garments to cowl up. She went to inform one other flight attendant what occurred, who later checked on her in the course of the flight.
